Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA)
Asphalt concrete produced at 300–350°F by coating graded aggregate with bitumen binder. Compacted density is about 145 lb per cubic foot, the constant behind every asphalt tonnage estimate. Placed hot and rolled before cooling, it forms the surface and binder courses of flexible pavement.
