Yield reconciliation compares the net tons on the plant ticket against the area the crew actually covered. One ton covers about 18.2 square yards at 1 inch using 110 lb per square yard per inch. Covering more area than the spec allows means the mat is thin; covering less means it is thick. Always use net weight — gross includes the truck, a 15–20 ton error.
