Formula & constants
Topsoil = area × (depth ÷ 12) ÷ 27 cu yd, weighing ~1.1 tons/cy dry. Lawns need 4–6 in of quality topsoil; beds 8–12 in. One yard covers 54 sq ft at 6 in. Every default in the fields above is editable — when your supplier’s spec sheet lists a different density, coverage rate or price, enter that number instead.
